Meet the Coaches

Head Tennis Coach Carina Cummings

Hi! My name is Carina Cummings, and I am the new head tennis coach for Applewood. I have a deep love for tennis and a passion for helping young athletes develop their skills. I am very excited for this opportunity to coach at Applewood as I have been a member for 7 years now and have also played on the Applewood Summer Tennis Team while in high school. Since then, I have also received the opportunity to take over as Boardman High School's Head Girls Tennis Coach. As the new head tennis coach, I am committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive program and to help these athletes to build a love for the sport where they can create a lifelong engagement just as I have continued to do. I am excited to meet everyone, and I am ready to have a fun and a supportive tennis season this year.

Assistant Tennis Coach William Morgione

Hello, my name is William Morgione, and I am the assistant tennis coach for Applewood, this summer. I am currently a junior at Ursuline High School, and I am playing in my third year of tennis here. My first two seasons I qualified for districts, and I hope to go further this year. I fell in love with the sport at age 4, and I have not stopped playing since. When I was younger, I played for Applewood during the summer and enjoyed every moment of it. I am super excited to coach this year and to help people enjoy the sport that I love. I hope we can grow as a team and most importantly have fun while doing so.
